I was discussing the NBN rollout with a coworker recently and made an offhand comment that Telstra was supposed to build the NBN network, but they didn’t bite the Australian Governments attempt to trick them into doing so at a discount.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to find the overview that covered this event. It was huge news when a leak about it dropped, but the information must not have been distributed enough for it to become common knowledge.
I’m going to keep this post here so that I can reference it. Please keep in mind that this post is based on opinion pieces, so this is all (somewhat) anecdotal.
I’m still looking into this in my freetime however I don’t have much of that.
